Paying for Hospice Care
As the only local non-profit hospice, we ensure that all those in our community who need hospice care receive it. Our services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, private health insurance and our Good Neighbor Fund. Regardless of ability to pay, if a patient qualifies for our services, we will care for them.
ConnectionsPlus Healthcare + Hospice services covered by these plans include:
Once you start receiving hospice services, Medicare begins paying for your care under its Part A (hospital insurance) benefit. When your care is covered by the Medicare hospice benefit, you may also be covered by your original Medicare plan for any services unrelated to your hospice care.
About the Medicaid Hospice Benefit
For some, insurance coverage is just not financially possible. If you are uninsured and in need of hospice services for yourself, your child or other family members, you may apply for Medicaid and perhaps receive ConnectionsPlus services under a Medicaid plan. Once enrolled in Medicaid, all hospice services listed above will be covered for you or your family member.
Good Neighbor Fund
We understand that sometimes people find themselves ineligible for a government plan and unable to pay for managed care or private insurance. For anyone in that situation, we are able to provide services thanks to the generous contributions made to our Good Neighbor Fund by donations from our neighbors in our community. Please contact our office by calling 540-463-1848 for more information on this resource.
